Campus Traditions - Responsible
for the planning, promotion and execution of many traditional
campus events, such as the Homecoming celebration, the Missouri S&T
Block Party, and Freshman Orientation Week.
Comedy - From nationally
recognized comedians like Lewis Black, Dane Cook, and Adam Sandler, to hilarious improv
troupes like Second City, to unbelievable hypnotists like
Frederick Winters, the Comedy Committee programs the most
funny-bone-tickling comedy on the Missouri S&T campus.
Concerts - The Concerts Committee puts on
several groovin' concerts throughout the year. From Rock to
Reggae, to Alternative and Punk, to Country; the Concerts
Committee strives for a variety of music that matches the
diversity of the student population. Past concerts have included Reel Big Fish, The Urge, Ludo, Third Eye Blind, Modern Day Zero, and Smashmouth.
Film & Video - Names like Kevin Bacon, Meg
Ryan, and Samuel L. Jackson are synonymous with the "silver
screen" in CE 125 where the Film & Video Committee presents
many blockbuster hits. Almost every Friday and Saturday you
can be sure to catch a great flick on the Missouri S&T campus through
SUB Film & Video.
Leisure & Recreation - Activities include the Game Live College Tour, the Rolla Series of Poker,
triathlons, the Easter Egg Hunt and 3 on 3 basketball.
Light & Sound - Responsible for providing
technical services for SUB events. This committee sets up
and maintains all of SUB's sound and lighting equipment. The equipment and technicians are also rented out to campus groups for a nominal charge.
Outdoor Activity Rental (OAR)
- OAR is your source for all your outdoor activity equipment
needs. Available equipment includes canoes, trailers, sporting
equipment, water coolers, and camping equipment.
Performing Arts - Brings cultural events
to campus including theater groups, classical musicians, and
lecturers.
Promotions & Recruitment- This committee
sponsors publicity stunts and assists with campus event promotion. It also provides articles and advertisements to the Miner.
Also, this committee is responsible
for all SUB recruitment efforts.
Social Awareness - This committe provides
what the others don't. Topics include cultural/social diversity,
health, sex issues, and other related event types.
